🔥The wires delayed rescue efforts
Two people were killed in two separate house fires in lower Bucks County within six hours of each other.
Sparks from fallen power lines greeted firefighters as they arrived to a home on Dorrance Street in Bristol Borough just after 6 p.m. Monday evening. The fire affected six other town homes on the block, fire officials told NBC Philadelphia. More than 100 firefighters including some from New Jersey battled the blaze.
Video of the fire shows flames close to electrical lines causing the sparks to shoot off making it difficult for firefighters to get inside the house from the front, Bristol Borough police chief Joe Moors said to reporters.
Instead they had to go to the back of the house which delayed rescue efforts, Deputy Fire Chief AJ Deangelis said.
Moors said one person was killed in the fire and another neighbor seriously injured. One woman was killed in the fire.
