The Video Store (located on New Falls Road) in Levittown will close for good this fall.

Yeah, we know what you're thinking... a video rental store is still open in our area?! Well, it is! In fact, it's the last video rental store in the ENTIRE Philadelphia region.

The store's longtime owners, John an Alice Tardino have owned and operated the store since 1981. The store is NOT going out of business, by the way. The owners are simply retiring (for various reasons, including some of John's health issues), Alice recently told LevittownNow.com.

The Video Store, which has been in operation for 38 years, will close for good on September 30, 2019.

On the store's Facebook page they mention that they offer notary services, lottery tickets,  copies and faxes, video transfers, passport photos, and ink fingerprinting.

However, Alice reminded readers that they offer movies you can't find elsewhere (not even Netflix). The store downsized to a smaller storefront back in 2017. Alice was explicitly clear in her interview with Levittownnow.com that the store's closure was their choice.

"I think it's time," she told the website.

A retirement sale began on Friday (July 5), where the store's inventory is all marked at 50% off.

By the way, you can read more about the fascinating history of the business, which has outlasted all of its competitors, on Levittownnow.com.
