Macy’s Dropped ‘Mom Jeans’ Plates After Backlash

Macy's stores recently dropped 'mom jeans' plates from their stores after Twitter backlash.

What was supposed to be a light-hearted joke has now turned into a bit of a nightmare for the company, Pourtions, after their moms jeans plates were dropped from Macy's.

This story is proof that one tweet can do a whole lot of damage.

According to WGN, this tweet by Alie Ward is why the plates were removed.

The response to her tweet was clearly huge and resulted with Macy's pulling the plates.

The company posted a statement on Instagram explaining that this is a joke and that most of their products display this type of humor.

When Macy's pulled the products they told CNN, 'We apologize to our customers for missing the mark on this product. After reviewing the complaint, we quickly removed the plates.'
