It seemed like last night’s rainfall was “perfectly” timed to coincide with the evening rush home, right?

Well, get ready for round two. Unfortunately, forecasters are warning that we could be in for more bad weather this evening

In fact, the rain may even be worse in parts of our area. The good news? The bulk of today’s storms are expected to roll through most of our area AFTER the evening rush.

Here’s what we know:

For the daytime hours: it’ll be warm and muggy. High temperatures today will be around 84*. A few pop-up showers are possible this morning and in the early afternoon.

This afternoon: A few breaks of sun are possible in the early afternoon. A few pop-up showers and storms are possible after 3 pm this afternoon as a strong cold front approaches the area.

Tonight: It looks like the line of showers and potentially severe thunderstorms will roll through the I-95 corridor (they’ll be moving west to east) between 7 and 10 pm.

The storms could bring heavy rain, which is bad news after yesterday’s downpours across the area. Therefore, more flooding is possible. The storms may also contain damaging winds, and lightning is also likely.

Remember if you’re on the roads: if the water looks too deep, turn around. Don’t drown.

Looking for drier weather? We are too. Unfortunately, the next chance of heavy rain rolls into the area again by Thursday night. However, the upcoming weekend looks dry and sunny (for now at least).
