Interesting fact: One of the Harlem Globetrotters calls Trenton home.

Did you catch that hint?  I said "her" hometown. It's La'Keisha "Swish" Sutton. How cool is this?  She's back home this Saturday when the Harlem Globetrotters hit the CURE Insurance Arena.

According to the Trentonian's L.A. Parker, she grew up in Rogers Garden and Prospect Village, near where she spent a lot of time playing basketball as a kid...the West Ward Recreation Center. There's a big mural on the wall there, in her honor, painted by local artisit, Leon Rainbow. In middle school she got a scholarship to go to Stuart Country Day School in Princeton. Then, she went onto Trenton Catholic Academy for high school, and the University of South Carolina for college (graduating with a communications degree), having big time basketball success in both places. After that we know what happened...world wide stardom. Amazing. She's also written a book, and created a clothing line.

I just love hearing success stories from this area. Way to go Swish. We haven't missed a show in years (that's my picture from the show a few years ago) and can't wait to see you shine on Saturday.

The Harlem Globetrotters will be at the CURE Insurance Arena this Saturday, March 2nd, at 2pm. Tickets are still available.
