Ozzy Osbourne Had This Surprising Connection To New Jersey
It’s been just about 2 weeks since we lost ‘The Prince of Darkness’ himself, Ozzy Osbourne. Everyone has been in mourning since his passing, and honoring him in so many different ways.
Whether it’s a huge A-list celebrity or just a fan on Instagram with less than 100 followers, people have been posting about Ozzy and remembering him for a solid two weeks.

In the early 2000s, he and his family became reality TV icons as well for their show "The Osbournes". He was loved by so many and is one of the greatest musicians to ever live.
Although Ozzy was British and lived in California most of the time when he was in the States, he had a very random connection to New Jersey. New Jersey was the state that held the first-ever Black Sabbath show in the United States.
Where Was Black Sabbath’s First American Concert?
Black Sabbath plays their first show in the United States on October 30, 1970. It was part of their “Paranoid” tour, and it was played at Rowan University, formerly known as Glassboro State College, inside the gym.
There were so many things that went wrong with this show, though. People reported that the band showed up late and the power went out while they were performing, not only once, but twice. Although it seemed like somewhat of a mess of a performance, it’s still marked as the first Black Sabbath show ever played in the United States.
I went to school at Rowan and just think it’s pretty insane that Black Sabbath was just walking around Glassboro, New Jersey, at some point in the early 70s. Did you know Ozzy Osbourne had this tie to New Jersey?
