As some virtual graduations take place across the country, The Philadelphia School District will celebrate Tuesday, but they will also be recognizing a student for a special achievement.

Michael Woody will be suiting up in his cap and gown just like every other senior, but what makes him different is that he will be recognized for perfect attendance in elementary through high school.

Woody says that his mother was the one who encouraged him to get up and go to school every day. According to CBS Philly, as a single mother, and Woody’s father passing away when he was young, she took on the role to get him ready for school every morning.

At 11 a.m on June 9th, graduation will commence honoring graduates from all 54 high schools in the Philadelphia school district, even though the graduation will be anything but traditional. If you hear a bunch of noise at specifically 1pm, that is because everyone was told to "make some noise." Residents are to go outside and scream, yell, bang on pots and pans, whistle for 20 seconds in honor of the class o 2020.

The district still wants to make it special. There will be a special DJ event presented by the Kimmel Center. DJ Aktive, who is from Philly, and his son, who is a Philadelphia District student, will host it.

There will also be a number of guests for graduation as well.
