The Tyson Foods recall has been expanded. It now includes millions of pounds of chicken strips.

According to federal food safety officials, 11.8 million pounds of frozen and ready-to-eat chicken strips have been recalled. That's a near 70,000 pound increase from the recall in March.

This new Tyson Foods recall comes after several people complained of finding pieces of metal in their chicken products that caused injuries to their mouths.

The products now being recalled, as reported at mystateline.com, were produced from October through March 8, and they have "use by" dates of October 1, 2019, through March 7, 2020.

Each of the recalled products has the establishment number "P-7221" on the back of the package.
