Rider University announced today that as part of their "Riders Safe Rides Program," the school has partnered with rideshare provider, Lyft, to offer free rides to students.

According to Rider's website, students can "use the Lyft app to request a ride Thursday through Sunday from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. at no charge."

Students interested in using the service must download the Lyft app using their Rider.edu email address.  They also have to call Rider's Public Safety office to receive a promo code when they want to use the service.

Lyft has a history of partnering with universities, as previously reported by USAToday.com.
