Ferry service to Long Beach Island along the Jersey Shore should be in service soon.

Well, that's a fun way to beat the traffic to the beach this summer.

The ferry was supposed to begin service last year but with technically difficulties in the way it led to a late delivery.

Apparently, this ferry service was a thing a while ago.

NJ.com says, "regular passenger ferry service to Long Beach Island is once again scheduled to resume for the first time in over a century, with service across Barnegat Bay every Saturday, Sunday and Monday of the summer months starting July 6."

The total time of the trip could range from 45 minutes to 1 hour depending on the weather and waves on the 25 seat boat.

A round trip ticket doesn't break the bank either, it will run you about $10.

I would totally be up for taking the ferry, it sounds awesome.

This ferry has not had this regularly run since 1901.
