Grab your glove, bat and remote because the original cast of The Sandlot is getting back to together to work on a new television series.

The Hollywood Reporter shared the news that a TV reboot was in the works after director, David Mickey Evans, made the announcement on a baseball podcast recently. Though he did not reveal which streaming service The Sandlot series will call home, he did reveal that we can at least expect two seasons of it. David also provided some insight on the new show: it will take place in 1984, and The Sandlot kids have grown up and have kids of their own.

As of now, we don't know if all the original cast members will be back, but it looks promising considering The Hollywood Reporter sat down with them last year for the movie's 25th anniversary. You can watch that reunion interview here.

If you're a fan of the movie then maybe you already knew that one of the main characters has roots in New Jersey. Tom Guiry, who played Scotty Smalls in the film, was born in Toms River, NJ, and grew up in the Mercer County area. According to his Wikipedia page, Tom, went to St. Gregory the Great school from Kindergarten to eighth grade in Hamilton Township, NJ and went to high school at Notre Dame High School in Lawrenceville, NJ. I even found an old Instagram account that may be Tom's that has a picture of him on the field at a Trenton Thunder game. You can check out a more recent picture of Tom below.

No official release date has been announced when the TV series will debut. Hopefully we'll see Tom and the rest of The Sandlot crew get back together on the small screen later this year.
