The Art on The Trail program launched Monday on the Lawrence Hopewell Trail. Its goal is to showcase art that is inspired by the walking trail that runs through Lawrence and Hopewell townships.

According to Patch, the artwork can be drawings, paintings, videos and photographs. Each month there will be a specific theme that residents can follow. People can walk along the trail with cameras and their art supplies. Then you can go to the Lawrence Hopewell Trail photo gallery for inspiration and ideas. Or if you chose to do so, you can launch your own creativity and come up with your own artwork along the trail.

At the end of each closed period, an internal panel will choose selected artworks to be featured on their website, social media and local media.

The website states the themes and times:

“Jun-Jul (submit by Jul 31, 2020): Landscapes

Aug-Sep (submit by Sep 30, 2020): Flora and Fauna

Oct-Nov (submit by Nov 30, 2020): Waterways

Dec-Jan (submit by Jan 31, 2021): Still Life

Feb-Mar (submit by Mar 31, 2021): Architecture

Apr-May (submit by May 31, 2021): Self-Portrait”

Anyone can submit artwork here. There is no fee to submit, no age limit or years of experience required. Artists are asked to share a little bit about themselves and their artwork.

More information can be found on the Lawrence Hopewell Trail website.
