Ariana Grande: If You Don’t Like My Pete Davidson Song, Don’t Listen to My Album
Not interested in hearing Ariana Grande's new Sweetener song about her fiance Pete Davidson? Well, you're more than welcome to avoid the LP all together, the pop star recently said in a series of Instagram comments.
Grande, who first confirmed in June that she had a song planned about her betrothed, fielded a series of fan questions Thursday (July 19) in reference to the project. And when some followers chided her for choosing to devote a whole track to Davidson, Grande responded bluntly.
"He's my fiance. This is my album. I'm an honest & emotional artist & human being and if my openness in my work isn't for u, that ok, i won't be offended," she wrote. "Still wishing y'all all the love in the world...I know I said I don't have favorites but these and and r.e.m. are really up there. have a great night."
Conversely, when another fan said she was excited to here the Davidson-dedicated track, Grande began to gush.
"it's a special song ab the most special human being i've eva met. also the song is sick. thanks for your kindness," she wrote.
Sweetener, due out August 17, has so far included singles "No Tears Left to Cry" and "God Is a Woman." Grande released the full track list Thursday — check it out below.
