Those workers fighting on the front lines of the coronavirus battle have put in their personal cares aside in order to care for those who need it most. Many thanks have been expressed to the nurses, doctors, EMTs and other essential healthcare responders between “thank you” signs, donated supplies and food, and more. It just so happens that this week is National Nurses Week and it couldn’t have come at a better time.

Front-line workers are being offered free food from multiple locations during this week as a big thank you for all their hard work and sacrifices. This yearly event, from May 6 to May 12, has been a celebrated week since 1974.

This year’s Nurses Week though seems to be of higher significance amid the continued stress and concern surrounding medical care and COVID-19. To express thanks, fast food chains and other companies have announced food deals and freebies for essential workers, according to Today.

Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop, a popular deli chair, has been giving nurses free small subs.

Chipotle is handing out free burritos to nurses and other medical professionals as part of their “4HEROES” campaign.

Nurses can also get free cinnamon rolls from Cinnabon, while The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf is helping to caffeinate healthcare workers for free.

Speaking of caffeine – Dunkin’ has been giving out free medium coffees and a doughnut to these essential workers.
