Foundation Allows Philadelphians to Decide how $1 million in Grants is to be Spent

The local organization, Philadelphia Foundation, is celebrating 100 years of community service.

Nothing feels better than giving back and helping the community and that is exactly what the Philadelphia Foundation has done for nearly 100 years. The foundation is acknowledging this milestone with the launch of its newest campaign.

With a slew of nonprofits scattered across the city of Philadelphia and everyday civilians will now have the opportunity to determine which of those nonprofits are going to receive the grants that have been provided to the foundation.

People will get to choose from fifteen nonprofits that have been separated into three subcategories being “economic prosperity, the opportunity divide, and community and civic engagement. Of each category, the organization with the highest number of votes will get $200K, second-highest will get $100K and third-highest will get $33K.

The only rules, per PhillyVoice, are voters must be 18 or older and may only vote once a day. Be the change you want to see and happy voting!
