Liquidation sales have begun at the Lord & Taylor in the Moorestown Mall. Store officials confirmed the news exclusively to NJ.com in their report.

It was announced in September that Lord & Taylor would be closing their Moorestown Mall location, according to News 12 New Jersey. A Planet Fitness is expected to open in the mall sometime in 2020.

An exact closing date has not been announced for the Moorestown store, however, based on a layoff notice published with the Department of Labor & Workforce Development it's believed that the store will close by January 31, NJ.com says.

A Macy's store in the Moorestown Mall closed in March 2017. After Lord & Taylor closes, the remaining anchor stores in the mall will Boscov's, Sears & Home Sense.

In addition to their Moorestown Mall location, Lord & Taylor currently operates local stores in the Quakerbridge Mall, Bridgewater Commons, Freehold Raceway Mall and King of Prussia Malls.

In addition to the closing of their Moorestown Mall location, NJ.com says the company will close their store in the Woodbridge Center Mall on Christmas Eve.
