Rapper and Philadelphia native, Meek Mill, popped in to James. G Blaine Elementary School yesterday morning, and he certainly did not come empty handed. He donated 6,000 bookbags that were filled with school supplies for the entire school district.

According to TMZ, Mill partnered with Fanatics and Puma to provide the supplies. Different style bags were provided for elementary, middle, and high school students. Sharpeners, rulers, notebooks and pens were some of the donated supplies.

Mill was inspired to give back to his community where he grew up after facing certain financial hardships. He tells TMZ, "Those memories stay with me and that's why I'm committed to giving back to families in my hometown, putting smiles on kids faces and helping them start the school year on the right note with the right supplies."

Meek Mill is in town for Made in America music festival this weekend at Benjamin Franklin Parkway, featuring headliners like Nicki Minaj, Post Malone, and Kendrick Lamar.
