Identity theft is still a big problem in 2019 and credit cards are still getting hacked all over the place. It seems like every other week another store or restaurant announces that they have had a data breach. Calling the bank, getting all of your information changed and not to mention not being able to access your hard earned money can be such a hassle.

According to 6abc, Mercer County is fighting back against credit card skimming by installing special devices that will detect if a gas station pump has had a skimmer put on it. The devices are called Blue Sleuths, and they will detect bluetooth activity on the gas pumps and find out if there is an illegal device on a gas station pump. By detecting these illegal devices, this should prevent gas station customers from getting their credit cards hacked. The county bought six of these devices and want to prevent the residents of Mercer County from getting hacked.
