The 18th Annual 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony of Mercer County will take place next Wednesday.

It will be on the Mercer County Community Colleges West Windsor Campus located at 1200 Old Trenton Road. The ceremony is rain or shine and will be held adjacent to the campus quad or the student center respectively.

A wreath will be placed on the memorial bench to honor the 30 Mercer residence that lost their lives in the tragedy. The ceremony will also honor all victims and first respondents of the attacks.

The primary speaker of the ceremony will be Mercer County's prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri.

Patch.com says The Villanova alum has served as the county's prosecutor for about 4 years and was appointed via unanimous decision by former governor Christie. Onofri is chairman of the Mercer County Police Academy.

The deeply involved prosecutor is also a board person for the New Jersey Special Olympics.

There will be other speakers at the event including Mark Matzen, the College's Board of Trustees chairperson. Musical performances will be given by both staff and students to commemorate those who were affected by 9/11.

Public attendance is highly encouraged.
