A popular New Hope tradition will continue once again this year.

New Hope Celebrates (NHC) announced that their annual High Heel Drag Race will take place on Sunday, October 27. The event, which is now its 16th year, will be held on West Mechanic Street in New Hope.

The event is always a fan favorite as racers sprint up the hill wearing a Halloween costume. Oh, yeah, and they're wearing high heels, of course, too. At the top of the hill the participants decorate a pumpkin then they race downhill to the finish line.

The rain or shine event will take place at 4:30 pm, with an after-party being held at Havana.

The October event series will kick off a special guest bartender event on Thursday evening, by the way. Mayor Larry Keller and Mayor Julia Fahl will be serving guests at John & Peter's from 7pm until 9pm. All tips will be donated to New Hope Celebrates to support the High Heel Drag Race and other events.
