New Orleans Style Mardi Gras Parade is Coming to Philly

Mardi Gras is almost here and you don't have to be in New Orleans to celebrate. This Sunday, February 23^rd  from 11 am to 8 pm, the seventh Annual Mummers Mardi Gras Parade will be coming back to Philadelphia.

This epic event will take place indoors at XFINITY Live! in South Philly. Along with the popular celebration, the Mummers String Bands will be joining the celebration for the second time. There will be drinks, food, and games at the family-geared event.

John Pignotti, Jr., President of the Mummers String Band Association explained, “We desperately need the support of the Philadelphia community to keep this great tradition alive.  We are indebted to ADVENT for creating and producing this wonderful event to help support the Mummers String Bands. To be able to play for folks in our backyard in South Philly is just icing on the cake”.

Pignotti went on to explain that the Mummers String Band have been struggling financially over the years due to city budget cuts. The band is extremely important to the community, so they are asking for the help of the people to show out and keep the tradition going.

Tickets are required to attend and the price is set at $14, with children under 3 allowed in for free.
