Last December, we were the first to report that Big Fish Seafood Bistro was closing at Marketfair in Princeton.  The space has been vacant since then, but now, according to GlobeSt.com, a new restaurant has signed a lease to take over the spot next to Barnes & Noble.

The restaurant is called Tommy's Tavern + Tap and Marketfair will be the company's 4th location.  There are currently Tommy's Tavern + Tap restaurants in Freehold and Sea Bright, NJ, and Staten Island, NY.  And according to the restaurant's Instagram, they are also planning on opening a location at Menlo Park Mall in Edison, NJ.

Although the names, decor, and menus are very similar, Tommy's Tavern + Tap is not to be confused with Brick House Tavern + Tap, which is also located at Marketfair. One big difference appears to be the coal-fire pizzas that Tommy's offers.

Another difference is Tommy's extensive sushi menu.

We can probably expect some form of live entertainment at the new restaurant since Tommy's website says that they feature live music in all of its locations.

GlobeSt.com says that Tommy's Tavern + Tap is expected to open in late 2019.  Tommy's website does not list specific job openings for the Princeton location, but those who are interested should periodically check this page.
