There were tons of reports that that Trenton-Mercer Airport was going to expand and now the county has finally announced steps to move forward.

Urban Engineers Inc., a Philly-firm got a $4.4 million contract to develop new deisgn plan for the airport which with also include 'preliminary design work for a new passenger terminal' according to nj.com. The work is set to begin Sept. 14, 2018 and should be complete within a year. The county says, 'the airport Phase 1, and includes associated projects such as air-side aprons and roadways, and land-side roadways and a new parking garage.'

 

This upgrade is must-needed seeing as the paying passenger number has significantly jumped from 2011 at 3,414 passengers to last years 363,626 passengers.
