Philly Chef Cooks Thanksgiving Meal for 100 homeless People
Happy Thanksgiving! We hope you get to spend the day with your friends, family and all of your loved ones. Thanksgiving is a time to reflect and think of all the things in your life that you are grateful for. It is also a remarkable time to give back to the community and help those who are less fortunate.
On person in particular did soothing amazing this holiday season for 100 homeless people in Philadelphia. Chef Donald Williams, of More Humble Hearts spent weeks of his free time cooking a feast large enough to feed 100 of the city's homeless. And as a result of his kindness, 100 empty tables and chairs will be filled with people ready to enjoy a Thanksgiving meal at the West Philadelphia ministry of Chosen 300.
I was sort of homeless, so I know what it feels like not to have a meal or a place to go,"Williams said."If I see someone out there who is hungry, who is homeless, who needs help...I'm going to stop and I'm going to say how can I help you."
