A campus security guard from Rider University and a Bordentown firefighter named Alan J. Berman was arrested on Friday on multiple charges.

Police allege that Berman was posing as a teenage girl, in order to get a teenage boy to send him nude pictures and videos of himself through an online streaming app.

He was talking to the teenage boy very explicitly, according to police. The teenage boy believed he was talking to a girl on the other side. The boy's mother, who was from Arkansas, realized Berman was talking to her son online. She reported it to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Police searched Berman's home, and he was arrested and charged with multiple counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

Being a Rider University Alum, I am appalled at this story! I have had many conversations with campus security and they were always the nicest guys! A spokesperson for Rider said that Berman has been placed on "administrative leave" and said he completed a satisfactory background check before he was hired.

The Bordentown Fire Department (where he served as a captain) has not issued a statement.

Berman is scheduled to appear in court later this week.
