Say goodbye to straws!

Your local Starbucks might be hoping on more of a environmentally friendly train ...

The company announced that they are slowly but surely getting rid of straws. Where does that leave us iced drink drinkers? Sippy cups!

They've developed a plastic "cleaner, less-ridged version of a hot cup lid."

"By nature, the straw isn't recyclable and the lid is, so we feel this decision is more sustainable and more socially responsible," said Chris Milne, director of packaging sourcing for Starbucks.

The elimination of straws inside the Starbucks brand should be completed by 2020.

"Not using a straw is the best thing we can do for the environment."
