You'd probably recognize one of the sounds of summer at the Jersey Shore. It goes like this...Watch the tramcar please, although, now it should say, Wa wa wa watch the tramcar price go up (lol...I couldn't resist). If you love taking the tramcar in Wildwood, NJ (and who doesn't? It's iconic!), expect to pay a little more this summer, according to NJ.com.

The price is going up from $3.50 (for a one way trip) to $4.00, a 50 cent increase. That's not too bad, and may even be welcomed by some who don't like to carry change, or don't want to carry coins after getting change.

The fee hike is the result of the minimum wage in New Jersey going up. As of January 1, 2020 it's up to $11.00, and will increase by $1 every January until it hits $15.00.

The Wildwoods Boardwalk Special Improvement District, Management Corporation (WSID) said in a statement, "We look forward to continuing to welcoming millions of visitors to the Wildwoods Boardwalk and to providing Tram Car service in the same manner that has been provided uninterrupted since 1949.”

Don't worry, you will still be able to buy discounted tickets at places on the boardwalk, and online.
