A fire on a New Jersey Transit Train shut down the Northeast Corridor this morning between Trenton and Metropark station stops. The fire broke out on the engine car of the train around 10:20 a.m this morning, according to New Jersey Transit officials.

The train left Trenton this morning at 9:52 a.m. and was scheduled to arrive in New York Penn Station at 11:16 a.m. The fire did not spread to any other cars in the train, and no crew members or passengers aboard the train were injured as a result of the fire.

Two of the four Northeast corridor tracks were reopened at 11:40 a.m, which allowed some Amtrak and NJ Transit trains to pass through with only 30 minute delays.
