Lane Closures on the Scudder Falls Bridge to Begin This Week
The Scudders Fall Bridge Replacement Project advises Mercer County drivers to expect stoppages on Route 29 North in Ewing New Jersey amidst the Scudder Falls Toll Bridge construction. Stoppages will allow for the placement of steel beams to be installed on the bypass just before the new toll bridge.
Drivers should be mindful of stoppages lasting up to 20 minutes along Route 29 from 10 p.m to 6 a.m. Stoppages are expected in both directions.
The construction will also result in single-lane traffic on the Scudder Falls Bridge crossing into Pennsylvania from New Jersey from April 2nd through April 6th. This will allow for concrete to be delivered on site and it is likely to cause delays from 7 p.m to 2 a.m. daily.
Other delays and closures include:
| New Jersey Side |
- I 295 Southbound (Previously the 95 Northbound) - After crossing over the bridge from Pennsylvania to New Jersey, the first exit to Route 29 is closed through June. Alternate Detours are posted, such as using the Scotch Road exit (73A) to loop back to 295 North towards PA to reach the Route 29 exit.
- Route 29 access to I 295 North Bound/ West Bound - use ramp for 295 southbound. Follow detour signs to Scotch Road North (73A) and loop onto I 295 NB/WB into PA.
| Pennsylvania Side |
- Taylorsville Road - Single lane patterns expected from 10 a.m to 4 p.m. Monday, April 1st to Friday, April 5th in both directions.
- PA Route 32 (River Road) - Alternating traffic (flagger controlled) expected from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, April 1st to Friday, April 5th
