In West Philadelphia born and raised, in the barbershop is where she spends most of her days.

At just 8 years old, Neijae Graham-Henries is doing big things. She currently holds the title for being the world’s youngest barber and she is killing it! The Philadelphia Inquirer mentioned that it was her taking her brother’s spot at the Junior Barber Academy that started her love for this form of art. Back then she was only 7 years old, and finished the course in just 6 short weeks. And get this…. SHE WAS THE ONLY GIRL!!! Talk about girl power!

In an interview with The Philadelphia Inquirer, Neijae was asked why being a girl in this field is important and she said,  “You can show people that you can do something that you haven’t done before.” She’s absolutely right!

Girls can most definitely do anything that boys can do. She’s incredibly confident at such a young age, which she actually talked about as well. Graham-Henries mentioned to the Inquirer.com, “I was confident since the day I was born.” We love a confident queen!

Last year, Neijae actually went viral across social media because of a video of her cutting hair and it actually gained national attention. She was then invited to the Essence Beauty Carnival in New York City.

Since there is a legal age of 16 years old for obtaining a license to be a barber, Naijae cuts hair for free all around Philadelphia, shadowing other barbers in the city.  While she’s also styled women’s hair, she is sure that she likes cutting men’s hair better because “They have better texture, no offense.”
