2018 Girls Matter Walk
Girls; Live, Love, Laugh Inc. in conjunction with Mayor Ras J.Baraka Office & The City of Newark Presents 2nd Annual Girls Matter Walk.
The young women of Newark, NJ, are intelligent, loyal, dedicated and curious- but they are also vulnerable. Every day, innocent and unsuspecting girls and women are taken off the streets, attacked at their vehicles, threatened in their homes, and unsafe on the playgrounds in their communities. Everyday a girl/women goes missing some never to be found this walk will allow girls and women to reclaim our purpose in this world and to let the world know that #GIRLSMATTER!
Girls; Live, Love, Laugh, Inc. believes that we all matter, and to that end we are preparing for our 2nd Annual “Girls Matter Walk,” which will be held on Sunday, Sept. 23rd. As you might know, Mayor Ras Baraka proclaimed September 16th as Girls; Live, Love, Laugh, Inc. Day in the city of Newark. This walk is apart of our week long Founder’s Day Celebration.
**** WE ARE ASKING ALL PARTICIPANTS TO DONATE ONE PAIR OF NEW SOCKS FOR OUR WINTER SOCK DRIVE ***
Military Park Registration & T-shirt pick up 9:00am (for those who placed an order)
Live Entertainment 9 a.m. – 9:45 a.m.
Prayer: 9:45 a.m. – 9:55 a.m.
Walk: 10 a.m.
Vendors are needed from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m.
