BREAKING: Raging Forest Fire Burning in South Jersey

A large forest fire is burning in Cumberland County New Jersey tonight.

Officials tell 6ABC that the fire first broke out around 5:30 pm near the Millville Airport.

The fire has consumed about 1,000 acres, but NBC 10 reports that as of 10 pm the flames were not threatening any homes in the area.

The fire spread rapidly as winds tonight have been sustained around 30 mph, with gusts over 40 mph. The good news, however, is that officials told NBC10 that they expect the fire to “burn out.”
