Bucks County District Attorney’s office will be Offering FREE VIN etching this weekend
So I don’t know about you guys, but one of my biggest fears is me walking outside to get in my car and it not being there. Crazy? Well, believe it or not, auto theft is pretty common and not the easiest thing to deal with. So to make this scary situation more likely to NOT happen, the District Attorney’s VIN etching squad is having a VIN etching event in Tullytown Borough, to provide free VIN etching to motorists at Levittown Town Center.
What exactly is VIN etching? When someone steals your car they can pretty much sell it with no problem, unless you have the VIN number etched. This is a process where your VIN number is chemically engraved onto your sunroof or windshield. If someone were to steal your car it would be hard for him or her to sell it unless they completely replaced the entire windshield or sunroof. Etching the VIN number takes literally a couple of minutes.
“The best way to prevent crime is to discourage criminals from committing them in the first place,” said District Attorney Matthew D. Weintraub. “VIN etching is a proven auto theft deterrent, which is why we are proud to provide this proven, free service to our citizens in Lower Bucks County this Saturday.”
That’s right, it’s free! The event is from10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 26th, in the parking lot at 180 Levittown Parkway.
