It's the pairing you never knew you needed. Soft pretzels with ice cream? Yes, please! If you are in Philly this weekend, just know that there is a pretzel/ice treat pop-up happening all in the name of charity.

Have you ever heard of Pretzel Day Pretzel? They are a small business run through Instagram that ships out made-to-order pretzels. They are black-owned and based out of Philly. According to Philly Voice, they can ship out pretzel braids, nuggets, and twists or you can pick them up in Kensington.

Pretzel Day Pretzel has teamed up with the local ice cream shop D'Emilio's Old World Ice Treats to put smiles on residents' faces this Saturday. If you happen to be one of the first 50 people in line this weekend, you'll get a free mini pretzel with a purchase of a pint of vanilla amaretto ice cream, according to Philly Voice.

What I love the most about this pop-up is that it this a benefit for black doctors. All proceeds will go to the Black Doctors COVID-19 Consortium. This is a group that aims to test as many black people in the area for COVID-19. A lot of people in at-risk minority neighborhoods don't have access to COVID-19 tests as much as others do. Doctor Ala Stanford is a Philadelphia resident herself and she saw how much her fellow Philadelphians were suffering during the pandemic. As a result, she decided to go into these neighborhoods herself and offer free testing. Since then her business has skyrocketed into a huge movement in Philadelphia and has tested and vaccinated more than 75,000 residents.

So just by buying some pretzels and ice cream this weekend, you will be helping so many people get tested and help them stay healthy.

The pop-up event will run on January 8th, from noon to 3 p.m. at D'Emilio's Old World Ice Treats, located at 1928 E. Passyunk Ave.
