A  man from Franklin, NJ illegally purchases a tiger skin rug.

Loren Varga, age 62, from Franklin NJ was just sentenced to one day in jail after illegally purchasing a tiger skin rug from an endangered species. He had went to Philadelphia in June to purchase the rug already knowing the species was endangered.

Later on in July, Varga was found guilty of violating one count of the Endangered Species Act and one count of violating the Lacey Act. As for the fault, he must also serve two years of supervised release and pay a $1,500 fine.

Dating back to 2008, he was pre-warned by the United States Fish and Wildlife Service after trying to buy a different illegal tiger rug, that it was a crime. As stated by Patch.com, Varga had therefore, tried again to buy the endangered species tiger rug anyway. The United Stated Fish and Wildlife Service later found out and arranged a sting operation to stop him. That is when he was arrested.
