One thing that is for sure about me is that I am very picky about who does my hair. I'm always switching it up. One day it's long and straight, the next I'll put on a curly wig and I look like a whole new person. That's just one of the ways I like to express myself and my personality..with my hair.

Well every few months I'll get my hair braided and i'll leave it like that for 1 to 2 months. My fellow black girls know that getting box braids put in can take hours and hours and hours. Depending on how experienced the hair braider is, with the amount of hair I have it can take up to 8 hours. Plus if it looks a mess when they finished, I'll go right back and have them fix it.

Well thankfully there is a new law in New Jersey that requires hair braiders to hold a limited license. Thank God because people will claim to be professional and experienced and not be at all. Then they F up your hair and try to tell you it looks cute.

So now hair braiders in New Jersey have to hold a limited license, PLUS receive up to 50 hours of training. And training includes instruction in sanitation, decontamination and infection control.

The New Jersey Board of Cosmetology and Hairstyling will be the ones to oversee licensing for hair braiders.

Thank God! Let's get these frauds out the streets!
