According to Patch.com, MOD Pizza is coming to the Village at Newtown later this year.  MOD Pizza's website says it is "the original superfast pizza experience," meaning that they create customized pizzas and salads in minutes.

At MOD Pizza, you can choose from 11 pizza varieties or create your own pizza by choosing from 6 sauces, 7 cheeses, 27 vegetables, 9 meats, and 8 finishing sauces and drizzles.  They also offers gluten-free crust.

MOD is just one of several "fast" pizza chains that have popped up across the country in recent years.  Thrillist says all of these chains bake their pizzas in super-hot ovens.  That means, the pizzas are ready very quickly.  A few of the similar chains include Blaze Pizza, &pizza, and Pieology.

According to the company's website, MOD was started in 2008 by a husband and wife in Seattle who were "inspired by their own search for quick, affordable, wholesome restaurant options for their growing family."

There are currently 14 MOD Pizza locations in Pennsylvania, but none in Bucks County.  South Jersey has 2 MOD locations - in Cherry Hill and Marlton.

When it opens in Newtown, MOD will have plenty of competition.  A Google search for "pizza in Newtown PA" brings up over a dozen choices.
