Trenton Ice Cream Parlor Re-Opens for Spring/Summer Season

It was was a dream come true in October 2019 for Hannah and her parents when they first opened their family-run Trenton Ice Cream Parlor, located at 969 S Broad St in Trenton.

The beautiful little ice cream parlor, settled into a neighborhood nook on S. Broad St, serves hand-dipped ice cream, soft-serve, water ice, coffee, drinks and snacks, and is now open for the season Wednesday-Sunday 12-6pm!

But first, let's get into the backstory of this sweet small business, because it's truly inspirational.

13-year old Hannah, who is autistic and non-verbal, hasn't been able to verbally communicate with her parents at length, according to TrentonDaily.com. Her father and co-owner of TIP, Eric Davis says that conversations with anyone held for around two minutes long are longer than any they've ever been able to have with Hannah.

But still, her vision and her dream persisted. One day she made a model of an ice cream parlor and presented it to her parents.

Their website proudly states: "The Trenton Ice Cream Parlor is the physical representation of this child’s dreams, modeled after her spirit and the notion that TRENTON can indeed “MAKE,” and the world should indeed “TAKE.”

Fast forward to October 19, Trenton Ice Cream Parlor had its first small opening, and then later on, a 3-day grand-opening in March 2020.

But like everyone else, how could they have anticipated the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic and its detrimental effects on small businesses? Just days later, they were forced to close their doors.

Over a year later, in June 2021, they were able to reopen again after vaccinations were made available. But then delta variant came along, and they closed again in the fall.

But now, they've re-opened on April 20! And are ready to serve up more sweet treats for the spring and summer season. Check out their menu HERE!
