A woman was viciously attacked by a coyote near her home in New Jersey.

Omg, how petrifying.

Doreen Entrup, a resident of Mahwah, NJ was walking in her neighborhood when she spotted the wild coyote.

With the traffic stopping and nearby animals quickly fleeing the area, this immediately raised a red flag for Doreen and she knew she had to get out of there as well.

NJ.com says, "She tried not to panic and slowly turned to walk in the other direction."

At that point it was too late.

The coyote was already in her presence and proceeded to attacking her by biting and scratching her arms and legs, reports NJ.com.

I literally would die if that ever happened to me, I wouldn't know what to do in such a bazaar situation.

However, Doreen knew she had to fight back because the animal would not stop. That's when she grabbed a baseball bat from her neighbors garage and beat the animal off.

She was able to escape to safety inside her neighbors home.

According to NJ.com, "The attack left Entrup with 14 puncture wounds on her arms and legs."

So crazy!

Next step for Doreen is to get treated with injections for tetanus and rabies.
